Meet the Members
Maggie Liberatore
Maggie is the vocalist and lyricist for Mothhead. A contralto who loves to experiment with dissonant, haunting melodies, and lyrics inspired by film, literature, and life experiences. She’s been writing and singing for most of her life, and has an extensive background in theater. Although clasically trained with a previous focus on jazz, heavier rock music is her favorite to write and perform.
Colton Liberatore
Colton is Mothhead’s drummer. He’s been playing drums for over two decades, and has an extremely eclectic musical background. He’s written in the styles of funk, R&B, metal, jazz, and more. He’s also done solo projects where he sang and played guitar. Colton is always looking for ways to challenge himself and harness new styles of playing.
Daniel Mench-Thurlow
Dan is the bassist (and current guitarist) of Mothhead. Guitar and saxophone started as his primary focus, but he fell in love with bass after picking one up 15+ years ago. He’s also played and written music in many different genres, and loves to utilize his background in other instruments to bring a creative approach to writing bass sections.
Our Story
Maggie, Colton, and Dan met in New Mexico where they studied music together. They all graduated with bachelor degrees in music, and have been in multiple projects together over the years. They released an EP with their previous band back in 2014, and have played on multiple records with each other and have toured across the country. Mothhead is their current project, and they plan to release multiple singles in the upcoming year, gig as much as possible, and eventually release a full-length album. Stay tuned to see what’s next!
